Congrats Elaina on becoming a Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)!

Congrats to Elaina who recently completed her Specialist in Sports Dietetics Exam!

Elaina is thrilled about this accomplishment, growing up playing sports she has always loved working with athletes and helping them perform their best on and off the field/track/bike. It took many months of waking up at 4am to meet the football teams for AM practice, sleeping in her car between practice and her full-time job and tons of running from the field to the kitchen for shot blocks, protein shakes and Gatorade, but it all paid off. The only downside, after also recently having completed her specialist degree in Eating Disorders (CEDRD), is that she has way too many letters after name!

The Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) requires 1,500 hours of specialty practice experience in sports nutrition followed by successful completion of a cumulative exam. The CSSD is a specialty certification that allows dietitians to apply sports nutrition science to fueling fitness, sport, and athletic performance. Elaina spent time accumulating these hours during her work at North Carolina State University and some volunteer experience at gyms.
